On January 17, 2025, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. instructed Pampang Market Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Administrator Federico Mamucud Jr. to conduct a thorough inspection of business permits and other operational aspects of the Pampang Public Market. The directive comes as part of ongoing efforts to ensure that the market remains compliant with city regulations and maintains a high standard of cleanliness and safety.
Mamucud visited several sections of the public market, including the wet, vegetable, sari-sari, dry goods, and fruit areas. His inspection focused on verifying that all stallholders had the necessary business permits and were adhering to market regulations. The Mayor’s order also included ensuring that the market’s electrical systems, cleanliness, and overall orderliness met the city’s standards.
Accompanied by members of the Pampang Public Market Administrator’s Office, Mamucud conducted a comprehensive review to ensure smooth operations across all sections of the market. This inspection is part of the city’s efforts to maintain a well-regulated and efficient marketplace for both vendors and customers.
Mayor Lazatin has emphasized the importance of maintaining a high level of discipline and organization within the market, which serves as a vital economic hub for local vendors and consumers. He also stressed that ensuring the proper issuance of business permits and upholding health and safety standards are key to the continued success of the public market.
This inspection is a follow-up to the successful inauguration of the newly renovated and modernized Pampang Public Market in November 2024. The market, which was officially opened with Senator Imee Marcos, features improved facilities and upgraded infrastructure designed to provide a more comfortable and efficient space for both sellers and buyers.
Mayor Lazatin’s focus on monitoring the market’s operations aligns with his administration’s commitment to ensuring that public spaces are well-maintained and operate in accordance with the city’s policies. The modernization of the Pampang Public Market is just one example of the city’s ongoing infrastructure improvements to support local businesses and enhance public services.
Through regular inspections like this one, the Mayor aims to continue fostering a business-friendly environment while ensuring that public markets like Pampang remain safe, clean, and fully compliant with local regulations. The city’s ongoing efforts are aimed at improving the quality of life for both market vendors and customers alike.
