ANGELES CITY — On February 13, 2025, a total of 63 differently-abled individuals from Barangay Cuayan received much-needed assistance as part of the city government’s ongoing support for persons with disabilities (PWDs). Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. personally visited the residents, distributing P1,000 cash aid and five kilos of rice to each beneficiary.
The distribution was carried out through a house-to-house visit, ensuring that the assistance reached individuals in the comfort of their homes. The initiative was spearheaded by the Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office (PDAO), under the leadership of Ryan David, who expressed that this act of kindness is part of the mayor’s commitment to improving the welfare of PWDs in Angeles City.
Ryan David highlighted that this is not the first time Mayor Lazatin has provided financial assistance to the differently-abled community. Over the years, the mayor has consistently prioritized the welfare of PWDs, recognizing their need for support and inclusion in the city’s development efforts.
“This initiative is just one of many efforts aimed at providing continuous support for the PWD sector,” David stated, emphasizing that the mayor is deeply committed to ensuring that persons with disabilities are not left behind.
A total of 2,500 differently-abled individuals across the city are set to benefit from this assistance. Each will receive P1,000 in cash, as well as five kilos of rice, helping to ease the financial burden many PWDs face, especially in these challenging times.
The initiative is a part of the city government’s ongoing social support programs, which aim to ensure that all sectors of society, particularly the vulnerable, are given the resources they need to live with dignity. By offering this aid, the city reaffirms its commitment to uplifting the lives of its differently-abled citizens.
As the program continues, Mayor Lazatin and his team emphasize the importance of supporting every resident, regardless of ability, in fostering a more inclusive and compassionate community in Angeles City. This assistance is expected to provide immediate relief to the beneficiaries, further strengthening the bond between the local government and its citizens.
