Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. had a brief but engaging conversation with former Barangay Balibago Captain Rodelio Mamac Sr. during his visit to the Mayor’s Office Conference Room on January 8, 2025. Mayor Lazatin was joined by Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Rudy Simeon, who also took part in the warm exchange with Mamac.
Mamac, who previously served as the Barangay Captain of Balibago, visited the mayor’s office to discuss matters of mutual interest and revisit old connections. The informal meeting provided an opportunity for the two to catch up on important developments in the city and the broader community.
In 2024, Mamac held the position of Angeles City Cooperative Development Officer-in-Charge, contributing to the city’s efforts to improve the welfare of local cooperatives and enhance community-based programs. His leadership in this capacity had a significant impact on the growth of local businesses and community organizations.
During the meeting, Mayor Lazatin expressed his appreciation for Mamac’s past contributions to the city, particularly in his role as a leader within the barangay and later as part of the city’s cooperative development efforts. The exchange underscored the mayor’s continued commitment to working with former leaders to improve city governance.
Mamac’s visit highlights the ongoing importance of collaboration between city officials and past leaders in fostering development and progress. Mayor Lazatin has always prioritized partnerships with local leaders to address community issues and create sustainable solutions for Angeleños.
Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Officer Rudy Simeon also provided insights into the current initiatives being carried out by the city, ensuring that Mamac was informed of ongoing programs and the strategic direction of the administration.
This meeting serves as a reminder of the collective effort needed to continue making Angeles City a model for good governance and efficient public service, with key stakeholders, past and present, playing an essential role in shaping the city’s future.
