On January 14, 2025, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. led the ribbon-cutting and turnover ceremony of two new state-of-the-art computer laboratories at Malabanias Integrated School. This initiative is part of the city’s ongoing commitment to enhancing educational facilities and providing students with the tools needed to excel in the digital age.
The ceremony was attended by key officials, including Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting, City Councilors Atty. Arvin Suller, Marino Bañola, Edu Pamintuan, Alexander Indiongco, Cris Cortez, JC Aguas, Raco Del Rosario, and Jesus Sangil. Also present were ABC President Danilo Nacu, Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, Secretary to the Mayor Raffy Lazatin, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, Department of Education Angeles City Schools Division Superintendent Engr. Edgard Domingo, and other local leaders.
Mayor Lazatin emphasized the importance of the newly established computer laboratories, stating that the initiative is aimed at equipping students with essential digital skills for success in today’s technology-driven world. He highlighted the role of technology in shaping the future of education and job opportunities, particularly in fields that require proficiency in digital tools and online platforms.
Each of the two computer labs at Malabanias Integrated School is fully equipped with 40 computers, providing students with ample resources to support their digital learning needs. These modern facilities will allow students to engage in various activities such as computer programming, digital research, and online learning, enhancing their technical and creative skills.
In addition to the computers, the city government has provided essential equipment, including computer tables, chairs, printers, air conditioning units, smart televisions, and fiber-optic internet connections. These improvements are designed to ensure that students have a comfortable and well-equipped environment conducive to learning.
The establishment of the computer laboratories is a part of Mayor Lazatin’s broader vision for the city’s educational development. By investing in modern technology and infrastructure, the city is ensuring that students are well-prepared for the future and able to thrive in the digital world.
