On January 14, 2025, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. officially inaugurated the new state-of-the-art computer laboratories at Sapangbato National High School. The ribbon-cutting and turnover ceremony marked a significant step in enhancing the school’s educational resources, aimed at equipping students with the digital skills needed for the modern world.
Accompanying Mayor Lazatin at the event were Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting and several city councilors, including Atty. Arvin Suller, Marino Bañola, Edu Pamintuan, Alexander Indiongco, Cris Cortez, JC Aguas, Raco Del Rosario, and Jesus Sangil. Also present were key officials such as ABC President Danilo Nacu, Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, Secretary to the Mayor Raffy Lazatin, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, Department of Education Angeles City Schools Division Superintendent Engr. Edgard Domingo, General Services Officer Evangeline Malonzo, Economic Development Officer Irish Bonus-Llego, and City Engineer’s Officer-in-Charge Helen Ayro.
During the ceremony, Mayor Lazatin highlighted that the initiative to establish these new computer labs aims to provide students with the essential digital skills and knowledge to succeed in the digital age. He emphasized the importance of equipping students with modern tools to better prepare them for future challenges and opportunities in technology-driven industries.
The two newly designated computer rooms at Sapangbato National High School each house 40 computers, providing ample resources for students. These modern facilities will enable students to engage in a variety of digital learning activities, including research, online education, and computer programming, helping them develop critical skills for their future careers.
In addition to the computers, the city government has also provided essential classroom amenities, including computer tables, chairs, printers, air conditioning units, smart televisions, and high-speed fiber-optic internet connections. These investments are designed to create a comfortable, tech-enabled learning environment that supports the students’ educational needs.
This project is part of Mayor Lazatin’s broader educational agenda, which seeks to improve the quality of education in Angeles City by investing in modern infrastructure and digital resources.
