On January 14, 2025, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. led the ribbon-cutting and turnover ceremony for the newly established state-of-the-art computer laboratories at Sapangbato National High School. The event marked another significant milestone in the city’s efforts to enhance educational facilities and equip students with essential digital skills for the future.
The ceremony was attended by several key city officials, including Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting, City Councilors Atty. Arvin Suller, Marino Bañola, Edu Pamintuan, Alexander Indiongco, Cris Cortez, JC Aguas, Raco Del Rosario, and Jesus Sangil. ABC President Danilo Nacu, Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, and Department of Education Angeles City Schools Division Superintendent Engr. Edgard Domingo were also present, alongside other city officials such as General Services Officer Evangeline Malonzo and Economic Development Officer Irish Bonus-Llego.
Mayor Lazatin emphasized that the new computer labs are designed to provide students with the digital skills and knowledge necessary for the rapidly evolving technological landscape. “This initiative aims to equip our students with the tools they need to succeed in the digital age,” said Mayor Lazatin, highlighting the importance of digital literacy in today’s world.
Two rooms at Sapangbato National High School have been dedicated to the new computer laboratories, with each room equipped with 40 computers. These modern facilities will provide students with ample resources to enhance their learning and prepare them for the demands of a tech-driven society.
In addition to the 40 computers in each lab, the city government also provided computer tables, chairs, printers, air conditioning units, smart televisions, and fiber optic internet connections. These state-of-the-art amenities are designed to create a conducive learning environment for students, allowing them to fully maximize their educational experience.
The inauguration of the computer laboratories is part of Mayor Lazatin’s ongoing commitment to improving the quality of education in Angeles City. With modern technology integrated into the classrooms, the city aims to help students develop critical skills in various fields, from computer science to online research and digital communication.
