On January 9, 2025, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. met with Mutya Ning Angeles 2024, Allyson Hetland, to discuss her upcoming role in promoting the city’s tourism initiatives and supporting local businesses. The meeting took place at the Mayor’s Office and was attended by Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, and Barangay Pandan Captain Cors Alejandrino, who joined the Mayor in welcoming Hetland.
During the meeting, it was announced that Hetland will serve as Angeles City’s Ambassadress of Goodwill and Tourism, a role that will see her actively participating in the city’s tourism campaigns and events. Hetland’s involvement is expected to help boost the city’s profile as a top tourist destination while highlighting its cultural and historical significance.
In addition to her tourism advocacy, Hetland will also support the promotion of the Gawang Angeleño products through the One Town, One Product (OTOP) store. This initiative is part of the city’s efforts to encourage the growth of local businesses and showcase the creativity and craftsmanship of Angeleños.
Hetland’s appointment is seen as a significant step in promoting the city’s rich cultural heritage and unique products. She will leverage her platform to encourage both locals and visitors to explore the best that Angeles City has to offer, from its historical landmarks to its thriving local industries.
The meeting also highlighted Hetland’s upcoming participation in the Mutya Ning Kapampangan Pageant 2025, where she will represent Angeles City. Her involvement in this prestigious pageant adds to her growing role as a key figure in promoting the city’s values and culture on a regional stage.
Hetland’s journey to becoming the Ambassadress of Goodwill and Tourism follows her triumph in the Mutya Ning Angeles 2024 pageant, where she earned the crown and P2 million in cash and prizes, defeating 21 other contestants. Her win has paved the way for her to contribute to her city in a meaningful way.
Mayor Lazatin expressed his full support for Hetland’s new role, praising her as a great ambassador for the city. With her leadership and influence, Hetland is poised to make a lasting impact on both the tourism sector and the promotion of local products, further solidifying Angeles City’s reputation as a vibrant and welcoming community.
