On January 17, 2025, Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel led the ocular inspection of the ongoing construction of a primary health care unit in Barangay Malabanias. The inspection aimed to assess the progress of the facility, which is part of a broader initiative to improve healthcare services across Angeles City.
Joining them during the inspection were City Engineer’s Officer-in-Charge Helen Ayro, General Services Officer Evangeline Malonzo, and City Health Officer Dr. Verona Guevarra. The group reviewed the construction site and discussed the expected timeline for the completion of the health care unit, which will serve as an essential health resource for the community.
The primary health care unit in Malabanias is among the several new health facilities being developed in the city. Along with Malabanias, additional health units are being constructed in Barangays Pulungbulu, Pulung Maragul, Cutud, Anunas, Capaya, Amsic, Tabun, and Balibago. This expansion is part of the city’s comprehensive plan to make healthcare more accessible to Angeleños across different neighborhoods.
As part of the effort to enhance health services, the city government has also recruited additional medical staff, including doctors, dentists, pharmacists, and dental aides. This move is aimed at improving the efficiency of healthcare delivery in the city’s newly established health units and ensuring better service for residents.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has been actively involved in ensuring that these facilities are well-equipped and staffed. In addition to hiring more medical professionals, Lazatin is making sure that each health care unit is stocked with necessary medicines, ensuring that residents have access to the treatment they need when they visit these centers.
The expansion of primary health care units across the city is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure of Angeles City. By decentralizing healthcare services and providing better access to medical resources, the city aims to improve the overall health and well-being of its residents.
Once completed, the new primary health care units will serve as essential hubs for healthcare services, providing immediate medical attention, preventive care, and treatment to residents in their respective barangays. The initiative reflects the city government’s ongoing commitment to making healthcare more efficient, accessible, and responsive to the needs of the community.
