On March 3, 2025, Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel visited the Phase 3 expansion site of the Angeles City Public Cemetery, located in Barangay Capaya. This significant expansion project is set to provide additional burial spaces to accommodate the growing needs of the city’s residents. The visit highlighted the progress and upcoming developments in the cemetery’s expansion.
The Phase 3 project, which will be officially blessed by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. on March 5, 2025, represents the city government’s ongoing efforts to improve public services and infrastructure for its residents. The expansion is expected to provide better facilities for families in need of burial spaces, ensuring that the cemetery remains a dignified resting place for the city’s deceased.
With the population of Angeles City steadily increasing, the need for additional burial slots has become more pressing. The new Phase 3 expansion aims to address this issue by adding a variety of burial options, including 1,152 full-body adult niche slots, 960 bone niches, and 288 baby niches. These spaces will provide greater flexibility for families, offering options for different burial needs.
During the visit, key city officials were present, including General Services Officer Evangeline Malonzo, City Engineer’s Officer-in-Charge Helen Ayro, and Engr. Angelo Tayag. Their presence demonstrated the city administration’s commitment to ensuring that the expansion project meets the requirements of the community and is executed to the highest standards.
The expansion is part of a broader initiative by the local government to improve public infrastructure. By addressing the need for more burial spaces, the city aims to alleviate the challenges faced by residents when it comes to finding dignified resting places for their loved ones.
The upcoming blessing ceremony, led by Mayor Lazatin, is expected to be a moment of reflection for the community, as it marks the successful completion of a long-awaited project. The Mayor’s participation underscores the importance of the project to the city’s overall development.
As the project nears its completion, the city government continues to prioritize public welfare and infrastructure improvements. This expansion will not only provide much-needed burial spaces but also contribute to the overall enhancement of public services in Angeles City.
