The city government, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., is proud to present the artworks created by local artists through the visual art exhibit “Unyab,” meaning “cleansing.” This exhibit, held from July 1 to 12, 2024, aims to highlight and promote the artistic talents within the local community. By showcasing the creativity and skill of these artists, the city hopes to foster a deeper appreciation for the arts among its residents.
“Unyab” is a collaborative effort, organized in cooperation with Marquee Mall and PAMITIPUN king Panyúlung ning Kalalangan at Ámánang Kabiasnan Kapampángan, an Artist Collective. The exhibit seeks to create a platform for local artists to display their work, engage with the public, and inspire future generations of artists. This initiative is part of the city government’s ongoing commitment to cultural and artistic development.
The opening ceremony will be led by Angeles City Vice-Mayor Ma. Vicenta Vega-Cabigting, Marquee Mall General Manager Ms. Peachy Atendido, Curator Norman Tiotuico, Artist Rafael Maniago, and French Geographer and 2011 MOKA Honorary Kapampangan JC Gaillard. Their presence underscores the importance of community support and collaboration in promoting the arts. The event will serve as a celebration of local talent and a testament to the city’s vibrant cultural scene.
A diverse group of artists will be participating in the exhibit, including Norman Tiotuico, Ramil Tumampos, Marinel Tungol, Marylou Lilibeth Millan Dumas, and many more. Each artist brings a unique perspective and style, contributing to a rich tapestry of visual art that reflects the local culture and environment. The variety of works on display promises to captivate and engage visitors, offering a glimpse into the creative minds of the artists.
The Angeles City Tourism Office (ACTO), led by Anneleen Antonio-Sugui and supervised by Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, invites everyone to visit the exhibit and support the local artists. Their efforts have been instrumental in organizing and promoting the event, ensuring that it reaches a wide audience. The exhibit is open for public viewing until July 12, 2024, at the Marquee Mall exhibit area, providing ample opportunity for art enthusiasts and the general public to experience the works on display.
