On February 24, 2024, officials from the City Environment and Natural Resources Office, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, along with students from City College of Angeles, engaged in a tree planting initiative at the Angeles City Watershed in Barangay Sapangbato. This activity forms part of the city government’s ongoing endeavor to restore the 560-hectare watershed, a project initiated back in 2020 aimed at bolstering water resources for the benefit of Angeles City and the broader Metro Clark region.
Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. is also urging private sectors and Non-Government Organizations to participate by ‘adopting’ specific areas within the watershed. Lazatin emphasized the critical importance of water conservation for future generations, stressing the singular goal of safeguarding the well-being of citizens while preserving the environment.
