On November 12, 2024, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. officially handed over the key to a new service vehicle to the City Treasurer’s Office. This vehicle, intended to enhance the office’s ability to provide services at the ground level, marks a significant step toward improving the delivery of public services to Angeleños. The City Treasurer’s Office, under the leadership of Arneil Escolango, will now be better equipped to reach residents in need of various services across the city.
Mayor Lazatin, accompanied by Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, and General Services Officer Evangeline Malonzo, presided over the ceremonial turnover. This occasion reflects the city government’s commitment to improving the accessibility and efficiency of public services, particularly those that require on-site visits or mobile operations.
The service vehicle is expected to play a pivotal role in streamlining the office’s operations, making it easier for city personnel to assist residents with various services that require physical presence. This could include conducting official transactions or providing other essential services directly within communities, reducing the need for residents to travel to city offices.
The turnover event also highlighted the importance of collaboration among city officials and public service providers to ensure the effective implementation of such programs. Former Angeles City Public Memorial Park and Crematorium Head Philip Samson was also present at the event, underscoring the unified effort in supporting city projects that directly benefit residents.
Mayor Lazatin has long championed the enhancement of public service delivery in Angeles City, and this new service vehicle is another step in his administration’s ongoing initiatives to improve government responsiveness. The vehicle’s deployment is expected to complement other efforts aimed at reaching underserved areas and enhancing city services.
With the addition of this service vehicle, the City Treasurer’s Office will be able to respond more swiftly and effectively to the needs of residents, particularly those in far-flung barangays or areas with limited access to government offices. This initiative aligns with the city’s broader goal of making local governance more inclusive and accessible.
As the city continues to modernize and improve its public service delivery systems, the turnover of the service vehicle serves as a reminder of the importance of providing essential services directly to the people. Mayor Lazatin’s leadership continues to focus on making Angeles City a more efficient and responsive local government.
